LIFE IS A CANVAS

It's been a while since my last blog, but I feel I've had many pots bubbling away and have now made sense of what has been happening.

I'm certain I'm not the only creative or small business owner sensing the rapid changes occurring around us. Everything has shifted, and none of us can avoid the pace. It's been a testing few years, but I do feel some really positive developments have come from sheer necessity. The past few years have taught us all to adapt or improve our skills, or we won't thrive. As a creative, I create; that's what I've always done and have been able to leverage my work to earn a living. I'm incredibly grateful for that because, honestly, I don't know what else I would do. I can't just create for the love of it or to refine my skills as a hobby. I have to make a living from it, but what I do is truly who I am in a way, so as the ground shifts beneath me, I must adapt and make positive decisions. What new technologies do I want to embrace? Which ones will I choose to avoid?

I have explored numerous ideas and techniques that have ultimately led me to a new approach in my art. I am focusing more on the design aspect of my work, revamping my website and creating new images for a more 'ready to wear' collection - including an affordable poster range, t-shirts, tote bags, and even stickers. I feel excited and inspired, even though I've spent hours figuring things out that perhaps should have taken a quarter of the time. Taking a break from my studio has given me fresh ideas for what I want to do when I return. I will be painting again soon and have plans for some very large pieces,

so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out the new work and website.
